Strengths: Excellent speakers, great sound! - Excellent price thanks to PriceGrabber's vendor recommendations; Page Computer got me the speakers I wanted quick and easy and at a very reasonable price.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: On-line ordering was quick and easy - I ordered the VS4121's on a Friday evening and received them via Fed-ex the following Tuesday early evening (basic ship). The Altec Lansing VS4121 speakers are easy to install and sound great!

Strengths: Highs and mids are clear, good power, bass is strong
Weaknesses: Murky bass when turned up high enough to rumble like it should
Summary: I bought these to replace my Altec Lansing ACS45.1 speakers/subwoofer. They are in roughly the same price category, although I've always been amazed that the 45.2's were so much better than the competition at the time (even still now). I wanted to spend enough money to get something on par with the 45.1s.

Subwoofer:

Compared with the 45.1's subwoofer, the 4121's is a little murkier. The 45.1 used to surprise me, in that you couldn't really tell that you had a subwoofer until all of a sudden the windows would subtly rattle when there was a sound explosion or something. It was very subtle. I had to turn up the bass on the 4121s to get a similar sound, but then the mid-low range goes up too much.

Satellites:

The satellites sound great. They are a good mix of highs and mids, look good and are stable.

Overall it's a nice setup for the price.

Strengths: Very sweet setup, the subwoofer is very impressive.
Weaknesses: none
Summary: Awesome speakers I recomend them to anyone who want's a 2.1 setup. I was going to go with the surround sound deal, but these seemed better. And i'm really glad now that I bought theses instead of the 5.1's. Definitally would buy agian, if I neaded to.

Strengths: Very good highs without being irritating. Surprisingly good bass. Not Muddy. Satellites look awsome. Great with movies . The bass is full without being overpowering. Soundstage is very good.
Weaknesses: Subwoofer is a little large. Bass, however, is not directional. I easily found a spot for them. I'd like a few more watts
Summary: Buy them now. I've found nothing under $125 that will touch them. Ihave ordered a second set for another computer. I found them at Buy.com for about $69 with free shipping.

Strengths: Best vocal and midrange sound I have found on the market for PC speakers! Very deep and powerfull sub base.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Amazing sound. That's what it comes down to. Compair these speakers at your local retailer (Best Buy has a good setup for listnenig and comparing), take note of the vocal sound quality. Beautiful, pure sound. The bass is amazingly powerfull. I upgraded from a older 70watt system, and was worried that the lower watt rating of this system would lessen the sound impact. I was wrong. This unit will fill a decent size room, with power to spare. I'm very impressed with it!

Strengths: Great sound
Weaknesses: Only 1 source input
Summary: These speakers rock! Not only do they look great but they sound great. It's hard to tell from pictures but the speakers mostly black with some parts greyish/silver. I upgraded from Altec Lansing ACS-45 Power Cube speakers which I always thought had good sound but these are better. The only thing lacking is a second source input which the ACS-45s had. I also like the easily reachable volume control.

Strengths: High Quality, very good power output
Weaknesses: No remote, size bulky
Summary: One of the latest and very best from altec lansing...Kind of costly still but quality vs cost..this is a clear winner...options to change bass, modulate and everything makes it good choice for quality music lovers

Strengths: Strong sub. Adjustable treble & bass on speaker.
Weaknesses: A little pricey for a 2.1 setup.
Summary: I went to Best Buy and listened to several systems with different configurations. Of all the systems I listened to, this one sounded the best to me. I replaced a 4 year old Altec Lansing 4.1 system. It sounded fine, but I didn't really have a need for surround sound because I don't have the room to utilize it. I figured maybe if I spent a little extra on less speakers, I could get better sound from the space I had to listen to it in. It has plenty of power, great sound & definitly no shortage of bass. $79.36 @ Page Computer.

Strengths: Excellent sound, suprisingly good bass response, very sexy looks
Weaknesses: Price is a bit high
Summary: I purchased these speakers to replace the older Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers which were highly successful. I don't actually have these speakers yet, but one of my friends had a set, so I listened to his, and that pretty much sold me. I placed my order yesterday and am expecting them in a few days. These speakers are pretty much the same thing as the ATP3 with some marked improvements: Better looks, separating the power button from volume, increasing the frequency response, improving the signal to noise ratio, adding a headphone jack, and increasing the power output. I would highly recommend this system to anyone who is looking for a fairly inexpensive speaker system for their computer, but still care about sound quality. The price was a bit high for me considering I was able to get the ATP3's for approx. 40 dollars, but I got lucky on that one. The ATP3's are currently only slightly less expensive than the vs4121, so I suppose, the system is still worth it.

2 Star ReviewWhat were they thinking?
Strengths: Good power and bass.
Weaknesses: Where did the mid-range go? Oh yeah, they decided to muffle it right into your work surface. The mid-range speakers fire straight down.
Summary: These speakers sound horrible. I have owned a set of Altec Lansing speakers for over 5 years and I loved them, but they finally kicked the bucket. So I decided to buy these based on reviews and price. What a mistake. If you adjust the treble up enough to make room for the mid-range to come through then the tweeters start distorting and crackeling. I am taking these back to the store, I can't stand to hear Bass and Treble with no mid-range to speak of. Don't buy them if you like full sound.

Strengths: Deep all around tones, Compact size
Weaknesses: oversized woofer? (2) made in china
Summary: 2005-05-12 14:28:00 Nothing has compared to this product including the low cost for the end results. Far exceeds my expectations. I have only had this for a short period of time, but the testing that I have done gives excellent results.

Strengths: Unbelievable!! I have never had anything sound this good for this price. My neighbor is complaining and I live in a house not an apartment..:)
Weaknesses: Absolutely none unless you count the tingling it gives you.
Summary: I bought them at Best Buy for $59 +tax. They are the best deal I have seen in a long time for a set of PC speakers. They beat the Klipsch by a mile. To put this in perspective, When I sit at my desk (in my house) and I turn the volume up it is like being in a club. You can feel your chest vibrating along with other parts that should not be mentioned here :) Remeber The Howard Stern movie when he was humming to the microphone and the lady was on the speaker. Perspectives are in place now.. Orgasmic sound would be a good description.
