Not to bad, not to good.
Strengths: Crystal clear highs, and good mid-range, surprising bass for its size.
Weaknesses: Not very loud.
Summary: These speakers are very nice to look at with there brushed stainless contrasted with black surrounding case.
I was pleasantly surprised at the nice bass for the size. They have a good quality sound. Now having said that, for being powered they do not have a very loud volume.
The MMS321 power unit is rather large for the unimpressive db's coming out. At 8"x3"x5" it seems that it should be... well, more.
I bought these to use with my laptop. Even with a Boosteroo inline to boost the volume, its not so loud that you can't hold a normal conversation. Thinking that it may be the laptop, I attached the unit to my home computer. The results were a little less flattering. At full volume the level was about the same. However the signal was distorted. As the volume was backed down it cleared up.
The box boast's a whopping 80w. 2x20w per channel. It may seem impressive until you hear the 80w.
I bought these at Wal-mart for $59.00. Not bad for the quality of sound. Just not alot of quantity. Might be a great purchase for a college dorm. Not too big and not too loud.
If I could give two and a half stars I would. They are satisfactory, but would not purchase them again. So hence the three stars.
