The Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 is the ultimate processor for overclockers looking to maximize their bang for the buck. It runs at an already high frequency of 3.00GHz stock, but pairing the processor with good memory will allow for the processor to run full tilt at 400MHz FSB (or beyond). With its 9x multiplier, speeds of 4.00GHz on air cooling is definitely attainable. This is possible due to the processor's 45nm die, allowing for greater performance per-volt and greater heat tolerances. An additional 1 GHz of performance for free is a hard deal to beat, and as long as you have the decent cooling to match, it's very attainable. But even for non-overclockers, the E8400 delivers very fast performance with low power consumption. Read Full Review
