Samsung series 6 review
User Rating
1 Week
Strengths:
Exterior casing is very attractive with maroon tinited frame
Weaknesses:
Picture quality on lower channels is very grainy
Summary:
I also own a 3 year old plasma and assumed this new 52" LCD would be far superior to my older plasma. I was very mistaken. Even with a high end DVD, the picture is maybe as good as my older plasma. Only in certain HD channels, mainly in exterior scenes, is the picture quality exceptional. Most of the time, I have been very dissappointed in the picture clarity.

Well, this is a HDTV. I also had a SONY XBR HD-ready TV for many years and gave me better picture on analog channels. However, in terms of the HD quality, this SAMSUNG TV was far superior to the SONY XBR TV because this TV is built to be watched in HD channels. BTW, all analog channel will be ceased to broadcast in less than a year from now (Feb. 2008) so what's the point of viewing analog signal with this HDTV anyway?? You view is very skewed and if you want to watch analog channels, do not use this HDTV.. Get yourself a CRT TV and I can assure you that you will get less grainy picture. (It is normal to see grainy picture with this extremely high resolution screen).

I hope the Samsung Series 6-52" is a great tv. I have read reviews and info till i don't want to read no more. I just want a tv that me and my family can occasionally watch a movie. Watch regular shows, news, weather, sci-fi, dramas, etc... You get the picture. All the techno gizzmo's don't really matter to us. It might later, but not right now. May purchase PS-3 blueray to watch movies with and get this we might even play a game on it occasionally. So if someone will tell me that this is the tv for us, Please, please say it is so. ( To many tvs to choose from.) I've had the same old set for 12yrs or more. Still works great, but time to upgrade. Vision is going so larger is better. Thanks. Some one please simple words please. Tv will be going in a bright room. rkmastiff@comcast.net
