Strengths: Easy and addictive gameplay, amusing humor
Weaknesses: None apparent
Summary: Elite Beat Agents puts you into the situation of helping out the Elite Beat Agents, a secret government organization charged with saving the world. However, you have to work through the musical selections and play with the rhythm of the game to work through the different missions for the EBA's. It's a simple game that is very addictive and offers quite a bit of replay. A must-have for rhythm fans.

Strengths: Fun and accessible gameplay, great sense of humor.
Weaknesses: none, really
Summary: EBA is, without a doubt, one of the most clever and fun games on the market. The gameplay is addictive and rewarding, the songs are appropriate and sound quite good on the DS, and the stories are thoroughly entertaining. A great multiplayer mode and a number of difficulty mode are also included. Even if you're not a fan of the songs or of rhythm games in general, I highly recommend this title.

Strengths: One of the best music games ever, lots of challenge, great production values.
Weaknesses: Some of the songs are weak choices.
Summary: Ouendan is one of the most-loved import games for the DS. Elite Beat Agents is the U.S. version, and the good news is that very little has been lost in translation.
In Elite Beat Agents, you tap along rhythmically to beats or notes in the song. Numbered circles appear on the screen, with larger circles appearing around them. When the larger circles shrink to the same size as the numbered circles, you tap the circle to play along with the beat. It's extremely intuitive and easy to learn. The game gets progressively harder with the patterns and speed. The game gets very difficult, and has multiple difficulty levels.
The gameplay in Elite Beat Agents is identical to Ouendan, but the stories, music, and beat patterns have changed. What could have been a disaster has been averted; while the music isn't as good as it could be, it isn't as bad as it could have been either. The music has been chosen carefully for its replayability and ease on the ears. However, some of the enjoyment of this game will come down to taste. Personally, I think there are more hits than misses, although the use of music that's already familiar to most Americans means that some people will have had their fill of some of these songs before they've even played a game.
Some things have been improved from the Japanese version. Intros and long story sequences can be skipped and there are bonus unlockable songs. The addition of the U.S. commander is baffling, as he's largely useless filler, but doesn't really negatively impact the game either.
The quality of the music and visuals is top notch. The songs are all covers, but they're very faithful and high quality. Certain songs, like "September", "Material Girl", and "ABC" are always fun.
Gameplay and challenge is high, and the stories have a nice emotional component as well. You will root for the people in the stories, though the game doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a great mix of music, gameplay, and storytelling, and all of the components make something that's more than just the sum of the parts.
This game is what videogames is all about.

Strengths: music, lots of challenge, easy to play, anyone can pick up

Summary: Elite Beat Agents is one of those games that everyone can play! Imagine playing Dane Dance Revolution, but with the Nintendo DS stylus. That's what you get with Elite Beat Agents. You tap along to the beat of the music following the prompts that you receive on screen. You'll soon find that the game is highly addictive and full of fun and energy. You'll also unlock the stories of the storybook within the game as well. This is one game that you should not pass up as Elite Beat Agents will have the whole family enjoying their nights!

Strengths: Interesting mix of music; addictive gameplay
Weaknesses: Corny storylines (but that could be a plus as well)
Summary: Just think of this as Dance Dance Revolution with the stylus. If you like stomping your feet to music, then you'll probably like doing something similar on the DS. The music selection has decent variety (with a few possible questionable choices), but no matter the song, the gameplay is easy to get into. Tapping along with the beat can be quite fun and manages to avoid getting repetitive. This is due to the goofy storyline as well as the good variety of "moves" that you're required to perform. Overall, I'd recommend picking this game up. There's nothing else quite like it.

Strengths: Fun, easy to learn, great songs

Summary: This is a really fun game. If you like DDR, but lack the foot coordination, this game is for you. It's also fun to show your friends the capabilities of the DS. I would recommend this to almost all DS owners.

Strengths: Multiple levels of difficulty. Challenging but also accessible. Fun!

Summary: EBA is great. You dance your way into saving the world with this wonderful rhythm game. There are multiple difficulty levels and plenty of bonuses to be unlocked. You can a save your missions for review later and then play against them in one of the many different type of multiplayer games. This game is a must buy for the DS!

Strengths: Frantic pace, playlist, presentation
Weaknesses: playlist (some may or may not like it), occasional out of sync/delay
Summary: As you might have read in another review of mine, I don’t have any rhythm. However, this title has been very fun and frustrating at the same time. Gameplay is sort of like the children’s game at the arcade, whack-a-mole, where you tap circles (on the lower screen) in beat with the song in a numbered sequence. There are a couple other things you need to do with the stylus at the same time, which tends to ramp up the difficulty as the pace/beat quickens.
Along with the frantic pace/gameplay, the graphical presentation (in comic book/anime style) is colorful and, like the game, crazy. It’s fun to see the cut scenes where everyone seems to be yelling and excited about something. It will have that kind of affect on you.
Definitely recommended as something different from everything else out there on the DS.

Strengths: Fun and very challenging gameplay without being cheap, Funny stories to go along with the games, nice little imporvements over Ouendan.
Weaknesses: Bad for you if you hate fun... or music games.
Summary: This game is just aces! This is a new game, made just for America, based on the popular import Ouendan. It's not a translation, mind you, its a whole new game! Yay! It boasts a few little tweaks from it's parent game, including the ablity to skip over the intro part of a song, and unlockables for high score thresholds. (That's good. It makes you want to play more!) This game is sort of like DDR for your stlyus. You tap numbers and slide your stlyus around to the beat and the visual cues. Hitting the beat well refills a decreacing bar and doing poorly brings it down faster. While you play a animation plays that is affected by your play skill. These stories are very funny! If you find someone with another copy, you can play multiplayer and that has a few more stories. The game is hard, but the more you play it the better you get bit by bit. Soon you will be beating levels that you never even dreamed you could do. Awesome, awesome game!

Summary: For those who have not imported Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! (do it!), Elite Beat Agents is the next best thing (until Ouendan 2 is out, that is). Featuring the same fantastic tapping, spinning, and sliding to the beat that gained Ouendan cult classic status in the US, EBA changes the story, but messes with the gameplay very little, leaving you with ultimately the same game, but different. And just as good.

Strengths: Fun to play, makes great use of the touchscreen, good stories in the game, entirely different plot from Ouendan

Summary: Elite Beat Agents is the US revised version of the DS classic Osu Tatakae Ouendan, which is a game about male cheerleaders appearing to help out average people get through normal situations. Elite Beat Agents takes a very slightly different turn (replacing the cheerleaders with secret agents) but has the same basic idea. It took me a while (before I bought the game) to realise that this game is entirely new (situation-wise) from Ouendan; for some reason I thought originally that it was just Ouendan swapped out with new music and different models for the characters, but it has entirely new situations. Each level consists of a new song, with a new story, that you have to tap along (or slide, or spin) with the music in order to progress. It starts slowly but does get very difficult. The touch screen is very responsive and it's fairly easy to get good readings-- the trick is to keep your fingers in time! As in any music game, much of the enjoyment comes from hearing the songs, so if you don't like the licensed tracks, it may detract from the enjoyment of the game itself. I don't think the choices are horrible, but they may have tried too hard to appeal to a wide variety of people, and in turn created a soundtrack that everyone likes 1-2 songs on, hates 1-2 songs on, and feels indifferent about the rest. That said, the game is a LOT of fun, and a must-have for the DS. If you enjoy it, definitely track down the original Ouendan title. DS games are region free so you can play Japanese games, and it plays exactly the same as Elite Beat Agents. (the buttons are on the same areas of the screen so you don't have to be able to read Japanese to get through the menus) I personally like the music a bit more in Ouendan but feel both games are very strong on their own. One last tip-- be sure you have a screen protector for your DS! If you get into this game you'll be doing a lot on the touchscreen which might get a bit scratched up.

Strengths: Addictive rhythm-based action. Difficulty ramps up appropriately. Animations are hilarious.
Weaknesses: Cher, Sk8rboi, and several of the music selections could have been better.
Summary: Right now, pick up your DS and run to your nearest big-box retailer, and track down the EBA demo from a download station. [Sidenote: Why doesn't Nintendo allow you to download demo content from your Wii yet?]
The gameplay mechanics are simple enough: tap circles on the touch screen in time with the rhythm of the music. It's a bit like DDR for the touchpad, if you want a comparison. Underneath the circles, and on the top screen, you'll witness 'story' progression that is as entertaining as it is eccentric. Seriously, you'll find yourself wanting to replay a successful level just to get a sense of what was going on while you were focused on tapping the circles.
I cannot recommend this game enough. The music selections are a bit odd (how else can you explain covers of Cher, Sum 41, David Bowie, Earth Wind and Fire, Good Charlotte, Jamiroquai, the Rolling Stones, Destiny's Child, and Avril Lavigne all in one game?), but that just gives them something to work on for EBA 2!

Strengths: Nice music and a different way of playing a music game
Weaknesses: Hard to beat them all
Summary: This is a very differnt music game. Players need to touch the circles at the right time with right order based on the music. It looks pretty easy at the begining, but it turns out really difficult to beat all the songs. This is a MUST-TRY game!

Strengths: The concept of the game works so well and it's so simple!
Weaknesses: The soundtrack. Some songs are great, but they really did put Ashlee Simpson and Avril Lavigne in this game.. lol
Summary: Minus Ashlee & Avril, this game is pretty awesome. It's apart of the Touch Generations series, which means that anyone can just pick it up and play it. They give you a training mode TOO, so yeah you should have no problem trying to figure it out.
