I ordered an Acer Aspire One with 512mb/160gb/Linpus/Extra warranty. The netbook was ordered on a friday afternoon and arrived next monday morning (so far, so good!). The netbook appeared to be in nice condition although the warranty void sticker underneath was damaged. Upon use, I realized that the netbook would not retain the correct date and time upon restarting. I guessed that the CMOS battery inside had become flat and tried to contact the free 24/7 helpline number supplied, but was always informed that the staff were inundated (even at midnight !). I emailed acerdirect (from whom I had purchased extra warranty) but was told to contact the manufacturer ACER ?!? To resolder the CMOS battery compartment (actual fault found)on this netbook was a major 2hr task. To sum up- acerdirect sells items that have been returned, some of these returns are for genuine faults. Aftersales support from acerdirect is TERRIBLE even with an extra £15 warranty. BUY ELSEWHERE ! Overall Rating

Part One I ordered a Toshiba laptop two days ago and opted for the next day delivery as my laptop had just died. The site was fine and I received an automatic acknowledgment. Next morning, I got a telephone call from a salesperson asking me if I'd like to add extra software (I already have Office) and a case (I already have one). She was very insistent that I needed a pre-delivery inspection with software check/updates as e.g. sometimes pixels are missing and I wouldn't be covered under the warranty. I explained that my laptop had died, and that I had to have it with me next day, no later, as I run a half million pound a year company and my laptop is critical to my business. She assured me that it wouldn't delay delivery and that they would start work on it right away and have it out to me that afternoon. That was yesterday. I started to get a bit panicky come 4pm and rang their number which suggested that I check the website. Overall Rating

Ok they were the cheapest for said product but wow, I believe the company to be so badly run its painful. I ordered on the 12th for next day delivery and arrived 4 days later. I love the laptop and after spending hours customising settings etc found the remote unusable(acer admit a factory fault) and was offered no help in finding a replacement option or partial refund and basically told to return it (costing me the insured postage and with a possible restocking fee) or go away. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AND FAKE 5 STAR RATINGS FROM BADLY NAMED PEOPLE take it easy Dan Overall Rating

All my e-mails and 'e-messages' except the first one stating my problem were ignored. The one response i got from them was to say it wasn't their problem and to contact the actual Acer people (who were very dood to deal with). They sold me a 'working' netbook which when i received it wouldn't work off the battery! They sold, in thir own words, a refurb but as new working netbook, how can you not notice a dead battery? This company also goes by laptopsdirect.co.uk and buyitdirect.co.uk as well as 2 or 3 other names. I strongly recommend that this company is avoided. Overall Rating

I would not use this company again and would strongly advise anybody else not to. I have never received such poor customer service and repeatedly had my e mails and queries ignored. I am out of pocket with telephone calls, I have been assured that requests had been dealt with - when they hadn't. I now wish to return something and they will not even contact me with an authorisation code to enable the return. A truly awful company which does, obviously, not understand what customer service is. I ordered laptop on early Wednesday, money was taken same day from my account, I paid extra for next day delivery which is £17 (I should get it Thursday, at last on Friday). I got it on Tuesday - 4 days delay. They said, they're trying to deliver on Friday but as I stayed home all day, nobody even knock at my door, nobody left any notice trying to deliver item. i cant get my money back for express delivery cause Acernotebooks.co.uk blamed delivery company for dalay. I dont recomend them as reliable company. I will never buy anything from them. wasted too much time and money on phonecalls. I am realy disapointed... Overall Rating
